With the strength of an entire naval fleet--and a libido to match--The Sailor Boy is here to drop anchor on the competition...and look good doing it!
Before he was the GSA's rising superstar stud, Spike was a Naval private expelled for “conduct unbecoming a gentleman”. As a kid, he grew up in St. Magnus School for boys in Brooklyn, where he would often sneak away to watch pro spellbreaking matches, unbeknownst to the strict nuns who did their best to raise him well.
Spike's glyph awakened during a bullying incident, resulting in his isolation from the other boys and leading to a rather lonely childhood. While working for the navy, he found fresh employment as a pinup model, where he put his good looks and 'Adonis physique' to good use. However, he never lost sight of his first love, pro spellbreaking.
Through a twist of fate, he was taken on as an apprentice to a spellbreaking promoter, the beautiful shadow sorceress (and former showgirl), Varla Montez. His efforts were quickly recognized by none other than Spike’s childhood hero, Colt "The Bolt" Tamberly. Spike now works and trains with the Global Spellbreaking Alliance as a promising young upstart…though he still has much to learn! Despite his somewhat airheaded persona (himbo to the core), Spike is actually very smart, caring, and possesses adept street smarts. He is a babyface in the ring and a masochist at heart, happy to job for the right hunk or brute…opponents who are often compelled to buy him a drink after trashing him. Still, heels would be wise to take caution--Spike's endurance belays his true power! By sustaining heavy hits and blows, Spike accumulates force and energy via his glyph, which he unleashes on his foes to herculean effect. However, he is weak against direct magic attacks, making him somewhat of a glass cannon.
Spike's glyph has blessed him with an impressive muscular build. His muscles even expand the more energy he takes on during a match! But as with all magic, there is an equivalent exchange, and Spike's glyph means he has to work out extra hard to keep his weight up, eating twice as much as well due to his quick metabolism. Thus, Spike is almost always snacking! This has made him empathetic towards those who struggle with their body image. He is always the first person to defend someone's looks from criticism. Sadly, he does not extend this kindness to himself, and will complain incessantly about even the slightest blemish! Spike is a high flier with a penchant for traditional, “high school” style inspired holds and techniques. Though he is openly a sexual libertine, he pines for the day he can settle down with a nice guy. His friends and fans often find his personality contradictory, as he prizes masculinity but is also a staunch defender of women--going so far as to push for more lady spellbreakers–especially ones who can beat him up! Spike’s finisher is a moonsault variant called “Anchors Away,” which he launches only when he has accumulated significant power. As his abilities increase both his density and weight, being hit with this one is like having an actual anchor dropped on you! As he has a curious habit of having his gear pulled down during his matches, he's sometimes nicknamed this the 'Full Moonsault'. He sometimes modifies this into a moonsault senton when he's feeling especially 'cheeky'.
His submission move is called the Sailors Knot. Befitting his personality, this move puts him in an intimate position with his opponent, forcing their legs open for a nasty--and revealing--split! Spike also has a mischievous habit of putting his best 'assets' to good use and face-pinning his opponents while striking his signature, single bicep pose. Fortunately, he only does this to opponents who are rude to him...or the ones he just finds really cute...
"Hey, you're pretty cute. Can't wait to pin ya!" |
As a former pinup boy, Spike makes good use of his gimmick! Though his finisher is a body splash, he isn't above turning it into a butt-drop either. Here is on display as 'Mr. August' for one of his favorite calendar shoots. |
Being a high flier, Spike’s finisher--Anchors Away--is a body / butt splash from the top rope. However, he channels all of his built up energy into the drop, making it more like 600 pounds of impacting weight. Hence, the anchor. He always aims for the face and takes his sweet time for the three count. Small and mighty Spike!

Failing to account for Spike's masochistic powers, Rex finds himself on the better end of Spike's slamming victory! That's a pin. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for Rex, nobody can resist when Spike does his signature technique, and he succumbs twice! |
Battle Quotes:
“Your centerfold stud has arrived. Get ready for some stormy seas!”
“Man overboard!”
“Time to hit the deck.”
“Let me treat you to the best seat in the house ;)”
“Anchors Away!”
“Take a picture; it’ll last longer than you did.”
